How an Animal Club visit works is simple. Our Animal Club animal experiences come to you, whether that be your home, local venue, school or any other place. The Ranger’s set up is simple and compact. They will simply need enough space for their animals and for everyone to sit around to interact with the animals.
Read on to find out how an Animal Club visit works.
How a visit works: step 1 Your Ranger will arrive about 15 minutes before the start time of your experience
They transport their animals in a number of boxes, which are then unloaded onto a trolley to help the Ranger move them around easily.
For schools & groups:
Every Ranger has a full DBS which they can show as required when they arrive.
For parties & events:
Access to the venue is needed before the start time so the Ranger can have everything ready before guests arrive
How a visit works: step 2 Once set up, inside or under a covering if outside, everyone sits in front of the animals
The space should ideally be at least 2m x 2m. It is possible to hold the experience outside however there should be a covering to protect the animals from the weather.
For schools & groups:
The ideal location is a hall, classroom or large room (including use of a table and benches/chairs). It’s best if the Ranger can stay in the same room throughout their visit to minimise moving the animals about.
For parties & events
Please help the Ranger by seating everyone on the floor (in a semicircle) or chairs in front the animals, giving enough space for the Ranger to show the animals and pass them around.
How a visit works: step 3 The Ranger shows each animal, one at a time, and explains how to handle it correctly.
Rangers encourage everyone to interact with each animal, usually 6-7 animals in total. However, if people aren’t comfortable with a certain animal they do not have to touch or hold it. Simply looking is just as much fun!
For schools & groups:
A range of animals from different classifications will be brought as part of the workshop, with at least one reptile, one insect and one mammal included.
For parties & events:
Different Rangers care for different animals. Therefore not every animal is available in every location. If there’s a specific animal you’re interested in, please let us know when booking and we’ll check availability in your area.
How a visit works: step 4 There will be plenty of time for photos to be taken & to ask the Ranger any questions.
Everyone is welcome to take any photos they like during the experience. We’d be grateful if you were to share them on social media that you tag Animal Club. Our social media details are below:
