City Farms:

 

There are also a few free or small fee farms. For example, around Sheffield, these include Graves Park Animal Farm and Heeley City Farm. Both offer a wide range of animals to be viewed, including some rescue animals. Graves Park also rents out chick growing kits for a small fee. The eggs can be reared at home or in a class to be brought back in once hatched.

Other farms in the area include Mayfield Alpacas, Manor Oaks Farm, Wentworth Farm and Garden Center and Holly Hagg Community Farm Alpacas. The latter farm also conducts alpaca treks ranging from £15 for a student with NUS card to £27 for two adults sharing an alpaca.

Graves Park also hosts an annual Highland Fling where the farm show bulls, sheep shearing, and bring out some of the other animals as well. Ferret racing and dog obstacle courses amongst the events as well as dog shows, rescue centres and more. Visitors can also find bouncy castles, fairground rides, ice cream trucks and more. Parks and Wildlife Centres:

You can feed the ducks at Graves Park and Hillsborough Park. Please remember not to feed ducks bread but give them cooked rice instead. This helps the ducks stay healthy by providing a more appropriate diet.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster and Askham Bryan Wildlife and Conservation Park in York are close by for those wanting to see something more exotic. Yorkshire Wildlife Park somewhat more expensive at £17.50 for an adult and £14.5 for a child whereas Askham Bryan Wildlife. Conservation Park will cost £22.50 for a family pass (2 adults and 2children), £6.95 for an adult and £5.95 for a child.
